Abstract

In modern society, studying the activities of a higher school teacher is of great importance. This article examines the role of the supervisor as a mentor in higher education and provides insight into effective practices. The importance of mentoring in the student-supervisor relationship is emphasized as it plays a critical role in promoting student development and success. It also presents various strategies that a leader can use to enhance their mentoring abilities. The main focus is on creating favorable conditions for interaction between the supervisor and the student. This involves creating an environment that promotes open communication, building trust and collaboration. Additionally, the article highlights the importance of constructive feedback in the mentoring process. The supervisor is encouraged to provide feedback that helps students identify scientific areas for improvement as well as recognize their strengths. Constructive criticism promotes growth, motivates students, and improves their overall productivity. The mentor is encouraged to encourage creative thinking, problemsolving skills, and innovative approaches to learning. By nurturing creativity, a leader promotes the comprehensive development of an individual capable of thinking critically and adapting to new challenges. Additionally, the article emphasizes the importance of professional growth for both scientific supervisors and students. Mentoring provides supervisors with the opportunity to expand their knowledge, develop their skills through current practices in their field, and improve their skills. At the same time, students have the advantage of gaining knowledge, skills and abilities transferred from experienced mentors, which allows them to progress not only in their studies, but also in other areas. It should be noted that effective mentoring has enormous potential to shape the future of higher education and creates a supportive environment by providing constructive feedback, encouraging creative thinking and promoting professional growth. This mutual benefit ensures a productive and fulfilling student-supervisor relationship, which ultimately enhances the quality of higher education.
